How to Cleanse Your Crystal Bracelet (Without Ruining It)

There are bracelets you wear and bracelets you carry. The ones that have been through a difficult week or a big decision with you — those hold something. Occasionally it makes sense to cleanse it.
Cleansing is a simple practice, but not all methods suit a bracelet with metal hardware and elastic cord. Water, salt, and smoke come up constantly in crystal care content online, and most of them will cause damage over time. Here's what works, and what doesn't.
When should you cleanse your bracelet?
No strict rule, but these are the moments worth noticing:
When you're setting a new intention
At least once a month, even if nothing particular has happened
After heavy use or a long stretch of healing work
When it feels heavier than usual, or just off
Before and after supporting someone through something difficult
After travel or time in crowded public spaces
Daily wearers generally do well with a monthly cleanse. During more intense periods, more often makes sense.
The safest methods for AURALOGICK bracelets
Because our bracelets use metal hardware and elastic cord, knowing how to cleanse a crystal bracelet safely matters more than most guides let on. These are the methods we use and recommend. They work, and they won't compromise the bracelet.
Sound cleansing
Vibration from a singing bowl, bell, or tuning fork passes through the bracelet without contact — no risk to hardware, no risk to any stone type. One of the easiest methods to start with. Hold the bracelet near the sound source for a minute or two.
Selenite or satin spar
Place your bracelet on or near selenite and leave it for at least four to six hours. Overnight is better. Selenite doesn't absorb what it clears, so the same piece can be used again and again without needing to be cleansed itself.
One practical note: satin spar, which is the fibrous form most people actually own, scratches easily and doesn't handle moisture well. Keep it dry, handle it gently, and wipe it down with a soft dry cloth when needed.
Methods to avoid
These come up often, but they're not suitable for bracelets with hardware or elastic:
Sunlight — can fade certain stones and weaken elastic cord over time
Moonlight — outdoor placement introduces humidity risk; the results are also less reliable than often suggested
Water or salt water — tarnishes metal, loosens elastic, and damages porous or soft stones
Smoke or incense — residue collects on hardware, and it's not always workable in shared spaces
How often?
Once a month covers most people. If you wear the bracelet daily, use it during meditation or healing sessions, or move through high-energy environments regularly, weekly cleansing is reasonable.
It doesn't need to be elaborate. A few minutes of sound or a night on selenite is enough.
A moment to reconnect
Cleansing is also just an invitation to pause. To notice what you've been carrying, and what you're ready to set down. It doesn't have to be ceremony. A quiet few minutes at the end of a long week is more than enough.
